Those of you who have followed my blog for a while, I'd like your input. I'm considering altering the name of my blog. The "I'm Christian. I'm Gay." should stay. However, I'm not sure with the "Deal with it" part anymore. It's pretty confrontational and if you read my blog you know I have a pretty gentle spirit. Your suggestions are welcome. [Please no snarky or nasty suggestions from conservative folk. I've heard them all and they're boring!]
Blessings, David

Hi. I am also Christian and gay. I think you should simply have it say "I''m Christian. I'm Gay." I think that the "Deal With It!" part is a little harsh and may turn people away. Just my input :)
"And I'm Glad."
And I am too!
I agree that it's kind of blunt and most of your readers could already be "dealing with it." LOL
Oh, I don't know....I just discovered your blog, and I find the 'deal with it' part rather encouraging. I tend to be a very shy and retiring person, inclined to let people walk all over me, and it's good to see someone having some backbone for a change. It reminds me that my 'opposition' (for lack of a better term) is just as stuck with me as I am with them, and I shouldn't just remove myself from the table and 'let them win.' I'm a person who has been really struggling deeply with where I belong and not finding a home at all yet. This encourages me to keep going, keep trying, to not give up.
I know several times when I've posted links to your blog on Facebook all some people focus on is the gay issue instead of the subject of the post. Maybe the "deal with it" part provokes them, I'm not sure.
I would say leave it as it is. I doubt that you have finished "dealing with it" yet. I know that part of your dealing with it had to do with coming out at work, but I think that there are many more areas that we will all have to deal with. I say keep it as it is.

Pastor David, I see that you've already made the change, and I like it. I was going to recommend, "Be encouraged by it," but your decision better evokes the idea of invitation and community.
[We haven't chatted in years, but I used to serve as a counselor for your confirmation cluster. I recall many chats about U2, whom I've seen twice in concert since then.]
